What is STEM Education?

 

STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. STEM is a method of learning and development that fuses the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Science is universal, its principles are the same all over the world and it keeps growing. Technology is constantly advancing gaining new grounds, improving lives, and efficiency in every aspect of our lives. Engineering basically deals with recognizing problems, solving, and designing solutions, but also tackles the challenges of changing global weather. Mathematics is applied in all aspects of life.

STEM basically refers to two branches of science out of the three branches. These two branches of science are natural sciences and formal science. Natural sciences include physics, biology, chemistry, astronomy, and much more. While formal science includes mathematics, logic, computer science, and much more.

Importance of STEM

Over the years the importance of STEM has grown massively, over 75 percent of industries requires people with STEM skill. It is a critical component to helping any nation to win the future. STEM education creates independent thinkers, increase initiative, communication, digital literacy, problem solvers, creativity, critical analysis, increase teamwork.

Every kid should be equipped with STEM skills as it can be applied in various fields, even fields outside science. The importance of STEM cannot be overemphasized as it is critical for a nation's growth.
